“Love Run Deep” is a straight-forward love gone sour thrill ride that takes the heartbreak and one night stands and turns them into a great melody with an excellent hook. The traditional songwriting is great and the forward nature comes off totally natural to the writer (Kenny Sandler). – Bryan Blake, Vinyl Lollipops
This rollicking track was originally inspired by The Rolling Stones’ frenzied number “Have You Seen Your Mother Baby Standing in the Shadow”. But in the hands of The Deep Drags, the song transports you to pounding cheap brews at CBGBs in New York, packed with muscular proto-punk hooks that make you nostalgic for punk rock with guitar solos. Despite those references, there’s a simple gentleness to the lyrics. Sandler calls it his “frenetic love song of sexual anticipation and obsession” for a reason. Down to the song’s Iggy Pop howl, I consider this song a hard-edged romantic bop for when you’re rockin’ in the rubble but have an infatuation consuming your thoughts. – Sean Frasier, President Wise Blood Records & Staff Writer Decibel Magazine
