Carnival Kid "The Last Day" describes the feeling of being trapped within the confines of your hometown and the traditions that are connected with it. It deals with disappointment and betrayal and how a community accepts the flaws of its members while being hostile to anything new or foreign. I started working on "The Last Day" over ten years ago and the meaning of the lyrics changed over time. TLD is going to be my last single before the release of an 8-track EP in December. The song is in a 6/8 beat which might set it apart from your average indie rock/pop music - with a contrast of quiet and powerful parts and a final chorus with a changed key.
